Our group, consisting of Caroline, Devin, Khaira, Tristania, and Zefanya, are awardees of the Mutualplus Scholarship Cohort 6 from the University of Indonesia. To foster a spirit of social awareness, we organized an activity titled Cahaya Harapan at Panti Werdha Kamilus, located in Komplek Bukit Cimanggu City, Jalan Baru Blok O3 No. 7–8, Cibadak, Tanah Sereal, Bogor City, West Java. This initiative was carried out as an expression of love and care for the elderly residents of the nursing home.
The Cahaya Harapan program is part of the Mutualplus Social Project 2025. It was conducted through four sessions with different themes and activities. The first session featured Nada Cerita, a karaoke and letter-writing activity where the elderly could reminisce about their past and express their feelings through music and written reflection. The second session, Taman Mini, involved planting flowers in pots as a symbol of love, growth, and renewal in the nursing home’s environment. The third session, Bunga Ceria, invited participants to create colorful tissue paper flowers to enhance creativity and fine motor skills. The program concluded with Kanvas Kenangan, an activity where the elderly painted on canvas bags as a form of self-expression and a lasting memento of togetherness.
Through this project, we hope to bring joy and warmth to the elderly residents of Panti Werdha Kamilus while inspiring greater empathy and social concern among younger generations.
