As people grow older, many elderly individuals face challenges such as declining health and feelings of loneliness due to limited social interaction. Arising from compassion toward this reality, a program called Pelangi Senja was initiated by Grace, a recipient of the Mutualplus Scholarship Batch 6 from Universitas Brawijaya. This activity is part of the Mutualplus Social Project 2025, which aims to bring color and joy to the elderly residents of Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha (PSTW) Wana Seraya, Denpasar, Bali. The program carries the theme “Mewarnai Senja dengan Cinta dan Ceria.”
Pelangi Senja program features a series of activities focused on interaction and togetherness to bring happiness to the residents of PSTW Wana Seraya. Grace, along with two other volunteers, invited the elderly to participate in light games suited to their physical abilities, group exercise sessions to promote fitness, sing alongs to evoke fond memories, and storytelling sessions to build closeness and understanding. Through this program, the Awardee and volunteers gain valuable experiences in understanding real-life situations, developing empathy, and creating simple yet meaningful moments of togetherness for the elderly.
