Afrida, a 6th-semester student at IPB University and a recipient of the Mutualplus Scholarship Batch 6, initiated a social program titled WonderAbility, together with two volunteers, Fitria and Zahrotur. This activity targets children with disabilities at Yayasan Anak Cacat Melati, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, Provinsi Jambi. The foundation accommodates 15 children, including those with intellectual and physical disabilities, most of whom are neglected children without families able to care for them.
The WonderAbility program was implemented every weekend during May 2025 and consisted of four main activities: Fun Healthy, Creative Expression Day, Cake Me Up, and Green Life. Each activity was designed to provide an educational and enjoyable experience, such as healthy exercise, painting on tote bags, decorating bento cakes, and planting potted plants. The children were encouraged to be physically active, express themselves, and hone their skills in a warm atmosphere.
More than just entertainment, the program also created a space to build self-confidence and mental health for the children with disabilities. It is hoped that this activity can inspire the birth of similar social movements in various regions.
