Temu Jiwa: Menyemai Warna, Menumbuhkan Rasa di Yayasan Bagja Waluya, Bogor

Mental health is an issue that often receives insufficient attention, despite having a tremendous impact on the structure of individual and social life. Driven by this concern, we, the recipients of the 6th Batch Mutual+ Scholarship from IPB University, specifically Amanda, Ardian, Kelvin, Rafli, and Safira, conducted a social program titled Temu Jiwa to assist the residents at Yayasan Bagja Waluya in Bogor. This program is supported by PT Mutualplus Global Resources, a company that not only provides scholarship support for education but also actively contributes to the empowerment of surrounding communities, channeled through activities designed by the awardees. The activity took place over four sessions, starting on May 18 and 25, and June 8 and 15, 2025.

Yayasan Bagja Waluya was established with the spirit of providing holistic and compassionate mental health services for its residents. Located at Jalan Poras Kel. Loji Gunung Batu/Sindang Barang, Kec. Bogor Barat, Bogor, Jawa Barat. This non-profit foundation operates independently outside of government oversight. It serves 15 residents who can participate in activities, supported by 5 employees and nurses, and collaborates with doctors for routine medical services. The facility provides a safe and supportive environment for the recovery process of Persons with Mental Disorders (ODGJ), enhanced by the implementation of the Temu Jiwa program in its rehabilitation process.

In its implementation, we also analyzed the influence of social stigma and applied an activity-based psychosocial approach as a holistic rehabilitation effort for the residents, thereby enhancing the residents' self-expression, creativity, and social interaction skills through the Temu Jiwa program. Several activities included: art therapy, interactive games, self-reflection, and plant care as part of the rehabilitation space. Furthermore, we, as the implementing team, also conducted observations and dialogue with the foundation's management to understand the conditions, challenges, and hopes faced in the rehabilitation process of the ODGJ residents at Yayasan Bagja Waluya.

The hope from the implementation of Temu Jiwa is not only to fulfill our social responsibility as Mutual+ Scholarship awardees but also to bring color into the lives of the residents, foster empathy, and enhance humanity within ourselves. Through collaborative interaction and care for the social environment, this activity serves as an initial step in supporting a social movement that is more inclusive towards ODGJ, affirming that every individual, without exception, has the right to be recovered, loved, and valued.
